Come on in...
Can I tell you something that surprises lots of people?
Not every bump on your skin is acne.
I know...
That probably isn't what you expected me to say.
Over the years, I've met lots of teenagers who have spent months trying acne products that weren't helping. Not because they were using the wrong products, but because they were trying to treat the wrong skin concern.
So before we reach for another bottle or cream...
Let's have a little look together.
Sometimes Your Skin Is Trying to Tell a Different Story
When we hear the word acne, we often imagine sore, red spots that come and go.
But sometimes people notice something different.
Tiny little bumps.
Often the same size.
Sometimes across the forehead.
Sometimes on the cheeks or chest.
Sometimes they don't really hurt.
Sometimes they can feel a little itchy.
At first glance they can look very similar to acne. But they may have a different cause.
That's why it's always worth slowing down before assuming.
So What Could They Be
There are a few possibilities.
Sometimes they're simply tiny blocked pores.
Sometimes your skin barrier is feeling overwhelmed.
Sometimes they're linked to irritation from products.
Sometimes acne-like bumps can be a type of folliculitis, including one linked to Malassezia - a yeast that naturally lives on our skin.
You may hear people call this fungal acne, but it isn't actually acne, and it may need a different kind of treatment.
That's why it's important not to diagnose tiny bumps from a photograph or copy somebody else's routine.
Different skin concerns can look surprisingly similar.
What Should I Do
The first step isn't buying lots of new products.
It's becoming a little detective.
Ask yourself...
NOTICE Have these bumps appeared after changing products?
NOTICE Do they seem worse after lots of sweating?
NOTICE Am I using lots of rich or heavy products?
NOTICE Are they itchy as well as bumpy?
You don't need to have all the answers.
Just being curious about your skin is a lovely place to begin.
A Few Gentle Habits That May Help
Whatever the cause, your skin usually appreciates kindness.
CLEANSE Wash gently with lukewarm water. Morning and evening is usually enough, although cleansing or rinsing after heavy sweating may feel helpful.
CHANGE Change out of damp sports clothes when you can.
CHOOSE Choose products that feel light and comfortable on your skin.
LEAVE Avoid picking, squeezing or scratching the bumps.
PROTECT Remember your SPF when you're spending time outdoors.
Sometimes the simplest changes are the ones your skin notices most.

Follow with Jam for light hydration and everyday support. It helps keep the routine simple while your skin has time to settle and you notice what it is trying to tell you.
RAY Reflect & Protect Tinted Day Cream SPF30
In the morning, finish with Ray to help protect your skin when you head outside.
Hudz, Jam and Ray create a gentle place to begin. They are not a diagnosis or a treatment for every possible cause of tiny bumps.

Watch how your skin responds.
And ask for help if something still doesn't feel right.

Our skin doesn't come with instruction books.
Most of us spend years learning what it likes and what it doesn't.
So if you're still figuring yours out...
You're exactly where you're meant to be.

Growing.
Listening.
A Little Note from Skin Pickle
One of my favourite things about my job has never been finding the perfect product.
It's watching someone's face light up when they finally understand what's been happening with their skin.
Knowledge can be wonderfully reassuring.
Because once we understand something...
It usually feels a little less frightening.
So thank you for being curious today.
Your skin is worth getting to know.
Love,
Skin Pickle
